Historic 1930s Bank Transformed into Lebanese Restaurant Kinz in Notting Hill

Notting Hill, London · February 1, 2026

A story about Kinz

A stunning 1930s bank building in Notting Hill is being reborn as Kinz, an ambitious new Lebanese restaurant set to open in April 2026. The transformation of the former Lloyds branch—designed by Sir Edward Maufe, architect of Guildford Cathedral and the iconic Heal's building—promises to be one of London's most architecturally impressive dining spaces.

Behind Kinz are brothers Jad and Karim Lahoud, joined by Rasha Khouri Bruzzo. The Lahoud brothers bring deep personal connections to Lebanese cuisine, having grown up in London surrounded by the city's Lebanese community with both parents working as professional chefs.

"Growing up in London, Karim and I were surrounded by a strong Lebanese community and the food that defines it," explained Jad Lahoud. "With parents who were both chefs, those flavours shaped how we eat and cook today. Kinz is our way of sharing that heritage."

The restaurant makes dramatic use of the building's original features, particularly its triple-height main dining room. A deli at the front will offer Lebanese provisions and prepared dishes to take home, including house-made lamb and pine nut kibbehs. The original bank vault has been reimagined as an intimate wine room with snug dining spaces and tasting tables.

The all-day menu spans breakfast through dinner, featuring a Full Lebanese alongside classics like baba ghanoush and tabbouleh. Main courses include lamb kafta, warak enab with koussa and lamb cutlet, and fattet aubergine—baked aubergine layered with pine nuts, tomato, yoghurt and crisp pita.

Photographs by Lebanese photographers will adorn the walls, connecting diners to the culture behind the cuisine.

"Notting Hill doesn't have anything quite like this," noted restaurant consultant Sarah Mitchell. "The combination of this incredible space with serious Lebanese cooking could make Kinz a destination restaurant."

Kinz opens at 50 Notting Hill Gate on April 15th, 2026.
