Chef Mary Yoon Opens First Owner-Run Korean Fried Chicken Restaurant in Fulham

Fulham, London · February 1, 2026

A story about Kokodoo

After years of building a devoted following through street food stalls and franchise locations across London, chef Mary Yoon has finally opened her first owner-operated restaurant. Kokodoo, her Korean fried chicken flagship, launched on Fulham Broadway in January 2026.

Yoon's journey to this moment has been years in the making. Trained at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu culinary school, she chose to dedicate her skills to Korean comfort food—a decision that has paid off in loyal customers and critical acclaim.

"I wanted to create a place that feels like home but serves food that makes people's eyes light up," Yoon explained. "Korean fried chicken has always been about bringing people together, and now we have a proper space to do that."

The menu centres on Kokodoo's signature fried chicken, available with five distinctive glazes: the house gochujang, soy and garlic, fiery chilli, black sauce, and smoky honey. Each recipe has been refined through years of street food service and customer feedback. The offering extends to a kimchi chicken burger and chilli wings that have developed their own cult following.

What makes the Fulham location special is its ambition beyond food. The restaurant features dine-in space with plans for Kokodoo Sessions—a series of live DJ performances turning the venue into a late-night destination. It's a vision that reflects Yoon's understanding that great food is just one part of a memorable experience.

Currently operating with soft drinks only, the restaurant has plans to expand its beverage programme, with Hallabong orangeade already proving popular.

For Fulham residents, Kokodoo fills a gap in the neighbourhood's culinary landscape. For Mary Yoon, it represents the culmination of a dream—her own kitchen, her own rules, and the freedom to share her heritage with London one crispy, glazed piece of chicken at a time.
