Brisbane's dining scene has welcomed a stunning new addition with The French Exit, a chic French bistro that transports guests straight to Paris without leaving the heart of the city. The restaurant marks the third venue opening in 2025 for the acclaimed Anyday hospitality group, whose portfolio now includes eight beloved Brisbane establishments including Agnes, Biánca, and LOS.
Located at 169 Mary Street in a heritage corner building, The French Exit represents Anyday group's first foray into CBD dining. The space has been masterfully reimagined by renowned interior designer Tamsin Johnson, creating an atmosphere that perfectly balances comfort with decadence. Dimly lit and undeniably romantic, the venue evokes the timeless charm of a classic Parisian bistrot.
"The French Exit will transport you to a classic Parisian bistrot in the heart of Brisbane CBD," explains Anyday Culinary Director Ben Williamson. "The dishes will have that classic familiarity for those who have travelled to the city but focused through the lens of Brisbane. Expect classic executions of timeless dishes designed to awaken nostalgia and excite the palate."
The kitchen team, led by chefs John-Paul Fiechtner and Ryan Carlson under Williamson's direction, pays homage to classic French techniques while allowing space for creative expression. The menu celebrates local and seasonal produce, showcasing the best of Brisbane's growers, makers, artisans, and producers in every carefully crafted dish.
The standout wine list further elevates the dining experience, making The French Exit an ideal destination for date nights, celebrations, or simply when Brisbanites crave a taste of French sophistication close to home.
