Ana's Hot Spot: Neon-Lit Nostalgia Brings 90s Vibes and Smash Burgers to Scarborough

Scarborough, Toronto · February 1, 2025

A story about Ana's Hot Spot

Step into Ana's Hot Spot and you're instantly transported back to the golden age of 90s hip-hop, neon lights, and arcade games. This Scarborough burger joint, which opened in October 2024, has quickly become a destination for anyone craving both retro comfort food and a heavy dose of nostalgia.

Located in a strip mall on Finch Avenue East, Ana's Hot Spot may look modest from outside, but its personality explodes the moment you walk through the door. The dining room is bathed in shades of pink and blue, with purple pendant lights casting a warm glow. Neon signs and vinyl records cover the walls while a flat-screen TV plays an endless loop of classic hip-hop music videos.

A pair of arcade machines near the entrance let customers challenge each other to retro games while waiting for their food — though with service this good, the wait is never long.

The menu delivers exactly what the atmosphere promises: comfort food with attitude. Ana's Double Smash features two freshly smashed beef patties on a soft potato bun, topped with caramelized onions, melted cheddar, crisp lettuce, tangy pickles, and Ana's secret smash sauce. The Killer Bee sandwich brings the heat with fried chicken, hot honey, creamy coleslaw, and pickles.

For the adventurous, Wing Poutine combines two takeout classics — crispy chicken tenders tossed in sauce of your choice, cut into pieces and scattered over steaming poutine. The Heaven's Bliss sauce, a divine combination of hot honey and ranch, has become a fan favorite.

Ana's Cookout combo offers the full experience: four wings, loaded fries, a cold drink, and your choice of sandwich. The Retro Paradise Fries alone — topped with onions, diced tomatoes, melted cheese, and creamy garlic sauce — are worth the trip.

Don't skip dessert: the Biscoff Bliss Milkshake and house-made Banana Pudding provide the perfect sweet ending to a thoroughly satisfying meal.

Ana's Hot Spot proves that in Scarborough, big flavors and bigger personalities thrive.
